26 Week Doctor Visits

Donna 26 weeks pregnant,  hehehe...
I started my day with a visit to the Diabetes Care Center. It was rather uneventful. I told her what the doctor told me friday about getting enough calories & NOT going hungry. She just increased my insulin a little and that was it. I still don't know why I have to go there, my doctor & midwife just go over the same things with me?

Next I went to my appointment with my Midwife. All was well there.
My blood pressure was low & I actually lost 2 pounds.
She went over my insulin amounts & what I'll do at my next visit, it's the BIG 28 week visit :)
No glucose test for me though, I've already failed that one, lol.
She measured my belly which now measures 36 weeks, WOW! It grew 3 weeks in 1 weeks time.
And we listened to the little guys hearts, they were all present :)
We also talked about my aches and pains... I've been getting a sharp pain in the top of my ribs on the right, it seems to be a combination of my ribs expanding and Baby A not liking my bra.
I just know that boy is going to be trouble!
My hips & pelvis  are also in a lot of pain, but it's just the pressure of carrying 3 babies.
Tylenol & a heating pad (on low) are my best friends right now.

26 Weeks!!!

My lovely bruise from taking insulin
My beach ball, that's Baby B in the bulge
at the bottom of my belly,
he wants to be the first one out!

  1. Girl, my skin feels tight looking at that beachball. And I love Baby B, he might not want you to get his picture, but he does want everyone to know that he is there.

I am so glad that you are doing so well with just minimal aches and pains. You just got to be sure to hang in there a while longer.

  2. Is Donna trying to help you carry one or two??? LOL too funny.
Glad all is going well. Why is week 28 so special??? Never having a baby I'm kinda dumb about these things.
    Love to ALL

  3. 28 weeks is apparently when they run a bunch of tests including the glucose test that I've already had. I will also get another wonderful Rhogam shot because I am rh negative. 28 weeks is also big for the babies, if they are born after 28 weeks their chance of survival greatly increases from before 28 weeks. That's all I really know about it... If any of my nurse friends or anyone else that knows more wants to chime in feel free... :)

  6. Karin, my next ultrasound is on the 15th so we'll def. have more pics then. I don't know if they will give me anything at the fetal cardiac specialist??

As far as coming up for a visit, just tell your boss you're taking a friday & a monday off and either drive the 9 hours or fly up. Problem solved!!! LOL...
My dad is flying out of Sanford right in to Greensboro next week :)
