First Trip to the Zoo!!!

Yesterday we met up with my sister & brother in law & nephew at the Jacksonville Zoo. It was not only the boys first trip to the zoo, but it was Donnas' first trip too!

Uncle Steven has Chandler in the stroller to the right of Donna

It was a pretty warm day, but not too too hot. Thankfully most of the zoo was shaded.

We started out in the Atrium & saw where babies come from...

They wouldn't let us take the choo choo into the stingray exhibit, so we circled outside while Mommy, Uncle Steven & Chandler looked.

Then we saw a few more animals...

 More monkeys

 Lemurs

And finally the kiddie splash park...
The boys were so ready to get out & move around!!! They were a little unsure about all of the kids running around AND the water, but warmed right up & had so much FUN!!!

this kid came right up to the boys when we first got to the zoo, his parents kept calling him back but he REALLY wanted to talk to the boys, he finally got his chance at the splash park :o)

After the splash park the boys were pretty much done, meaning it was an hour past nap time & they really needed to nap. We only saw about half of the zoo but we got an annual pass so we can go back again & again all year.

One last stop, we couldn't leave without seeing the giraffes...

 Chandler, Garren & Kellan

Caden was in real need of a nap so he reclined in Chandlers stroller on the way out.

We also couldn't leave without a souvenir...

So each of the 4 boys got one of these cute turtles.

It was a fun day for us all. It's always great to see my sister, Steven & Chandler & it's beyond awesome that we are close enough now to meet up for these day trips!!!

Garren had so much fun his hair stood up!!!

Ahhh, finally napping...

Chandler too :o)

  1. Looks like a great time! Love the wagon, but I guess the only downfall is if they want to nap. Can't wait 'til we can go to Lowry Park. Hope it's not too hot by then :(

    1. Since it was just a short trip, we took the stroller too. I thought if we didn't get too far through the zoo & they needed to nap I would switch out for the stroller but they lasted most of the day. So when they did get tired & cranky around 3 we just decided to head out.

  2. It looks like everyone had an awesome time! We were planning on taking the girls to the zoo on their 1st bday but the weather didn't cooperate. I can't wait to take them this summer. Did they like the animals or were they too young to notice?

    1. They didn't really notice most of the animals :( The giraffes though were really close & they did notice them & they watched them for a little bit. A lot of the animals were kind of far away or hard to see for the boys. They LOVED the splash area though & thank goodness they had one because the boys were getting restless...

  3. Looks like you had a ton of fun. I'm impressed you made it through the zoo with the Choo Choo wagon. My trio would love it, but our zoo is so hilly I'm not sure I would survive the trip.
