Summer Bucket List; Splash Pad with Grandma & More...

Donna had another audit in Orlando this past week which was another opportunity for us all to go see grandma. We also had a construction meeting with the contractor on he house. Since we would have all the pets & the boys in tow & it was suppose to be the hottest day of the year with the heat index at 110, we thought it was best for me to go ahead down to Grandma's while Donna went to the meeting & then on to the station to do her audit before meeting up with us. So the boys, the pups, the kitties & I all got on the road about 9:30am & arrived at grandmas about 1pm. Since the boys did really well in the car all the way down I thought it would be nice to take them to do something new & really fun. I'm really not sure why we have never gone to the splash pad here, I know our nephews have been & the idea has come up before but for some reason we have never made it there. Well we made it this time & look at how much fun the boys had...

Donna worked late thursday night to get her audit done & ended up having Friday off, YAY! Once grandma got home from work Friday morning we all headed to Ikea. We wanted to check out some storage & shelving for the new house along with a little dining table for the breakfast nook. While we were there we discovered 'mini beds' they are longer than a toddler bed but not as long or wide as a twin bed, which we think will be a good option for the boys new bedroom until they are ready for bunk beds. 3 twin beds would be wall to wall beds & as much as they like to sleep together, they play (& fight) too much before going to sleep.

Saturday we visited a few furniture stores to try & decide on living room & dining room furniture for the house. Our current furniture will go in the family room. The new living room will be kid free zone, it will be an adult space reserved just for the moms. We're looking forward to having one space where we can actually have lamps on tables & maybe some nice decor that won't get manhandled by 3, 3 year olds. Heavy duty security gates (baby gates) will be involved in keeping it a kid free zone!
Grandma helped us out by keeping the boys entertained while Donna & I looked around, THANK YOU GRANDMA!!!

Sunday Donna had to head back home, I decided to stay a couple extra days with Grandma. We kind of like her company ;) Donna has also taken on an additional station (congrats on being awarded manager of the year for the 8th time, here's some more work for you, lol) that needs a little extra attention right now. So we are giving MomMom a couple of days of not feeling like she needs to rush home because I've been alone with the boys all day, giving her a few more hours in the day to get stuff done.

After Donna left Grandma & I took the boys to a BIG bounce house place to play. They played hard, (grandma & I worked hard keeping up with them) & they had a great time!!!

Did I mention it was the hottest day/weekend of the year?!?

Monday we headed back to the splash park & the boys noticed the very cool playground right next to it. They wanted to play there too so we let them explore the maze of climbing towers & neat obstacles there before cooling off in the water.

  1. Oh that splash pad looks awesome!!! Might have to check it out next time down south. To be as hot as it was, I'm surprised I do not see more kids crowding the place up. Did you find a good time to go? Plus, IKEA furniture for the win!!!

  2. It was awesome! We went on weekdays & school is in in FL so there were pretty much just toddlers & a few homeschool kids there. We didn't have the same good luck at Ikea though, lol
