Pumpkin Patchin'

Wow, it's been a crazy, busy month!!! I have several, started but never completed posts & lot's of blogging to catch up on. I'll just start here with the boys & I's fun filled day with my sister, brother in law, niece & nephew at the pumpkin patch.

Pumpkin patches seemed to have turned into quite the events in recent years & have also become a little costly for a family. After a bit of research, my sister & I found a place that charged more for the kids but not as much for the adults who just oversee the fun, not like we're going to get in the bounce house or go for a cow train ride, lol...
Anyways, we found what turned out to be the perfect place for the age group of our kiddos.

There was corn to be played in...

Project 52; Week 39

Picture day cuteness, K, C, G

Project 52; Week 38

A little or giant really, backyard visitor.
This skink was so big that I originally thought he was a snake.
He was a good inch & a half in diameter & foot & a half long.
Luckily, I am fascinated by reptiles,
so we hung out for a bit & had a chat while I cleaned the boys playhouse.

Project 52; Week 37

A rare moment of calm, quiet, (clothed) togetherness. K, C, G

Shrimp & Grits Festival

You know you live in the south when there is a Shrimp & Grits Festival! LOL...
This festival was held on Georgia's Jekyll Island. I've wanted to go for a couple years now but have not made it for one reason or another until this year.

Parking was at the local municipal airport & charter buses shuttled us all to the festivities, this was the boys' first time on a bus & they LOVED it!

We see these big chairs all over the place, the boys finally got a chance to climb up in one

There was a huge fun zone for the kids, the boys spent most of their time on this double slide

After bouncing & sliding to their little hearts content we headed off to find some shrimp & grits... We didn't make it very far though before the boys found some face painters & just had to be made into some super heros.

Caden as Spiderman

and Garren as Captain America

It had gotten quite hot and quite crowded at the festival by this time. It was very hard to navigate 3 kids through the crowds for food so we called it a day & headed back to our car. The boys enjoyed their front row view on the bus ride back to the parking lot.

Donna & I would have loved to have tried some of the local cuisine & we would have really enjoyed checking out the artisans at the festival. This is why I mentioned earlier that next year, we may leave the boys behind & go alone. We really do love taking them along but they are at an age that is difficult for shopping & sightseeing beyond children's events right now. It was a fun day for them though & I'm happy we finally made it to the festival.
