18 Weeks In; Everything's Coming Together

A lot happened at the house this week. It was pretty exciting walking around seeing what was there & what was done.

Lights are in

Carpet is in

Outlets & covers are in

Sinks & faucets are in

Shower fixtures too

Toilets, towel bars & toilet paper holders are in

Closet shelving is in

The boys' bath has all it's fixtures

Kellan trying out the carpet in their room

Coach lights are up & landscaping is started

Anyone want any holly bushes, pittosporum, or viburnum???
We're more tropical foliage people so we will be replacing some of the landscaping :)

Door knobs (no locks yet) are in

Dining/living room

Kitchen/breakfast nook

Washer & dryer hook-ups are in

Garage door & opener are in

Really bad photo but the irrigation system is in

Water heater is in

Driveway is in & shutters are up but not painted yet.

There is a bot of a discrepancy with the house color, the stucco color & the siding don't match. Not even close. We verified with the super & the paint color is right, although much lighter than we anticipated. So we are now checking into the siding color. The other houses in the neighborhood with our paint color have a lighter siding. We would actually prefer a tad darker of a paint color which I think would be easier to fix but we will have to see what answers we get this week.

Wonderful Wednesday; Essential Oils

Wonderful Wednesday Series

We NEED more positive in this world. It does not have to be elaborate, though that is always welcome, and can be a simple picture or a short few sentences of something, someone, anything, that you think is wonderful. If you feel inclined to do the same, be sure to leave a link to your Wonderful Wednesday in the comment section so others may enjoy it as well!

A few months ago Donna & I started noticing that one of our boys showed some signs of ADHD. I'm actually pretty positive he is & am a little familiar with ADHD as a few of my family members have it. Neither Donna or I are comfortable medicating him & we honestly have not addressed it with his pediatrician but we thought we'd do some research & see if we couldn't improve his behaviors naturally at home.

I used essential oils on clients in the salon during facials & pedicures, where I worked before having the boys. I was familiar with them & their relaxing & beautifying effects. As I did my research for ADHD treatments essential oils kept coming up which in turn shifted my research into what else essential oils were good for. Turns out they are good for EVERYTHING! Our family has a list of ailments that can be treated with essential oils, from menopause symptoms & migraine headaches to anxiety & depression. This week alone I have remedied fevers, cold symptoms, a nasty cut & tummy distress (it's been a busy week so far!)

As I was doing my research a friend had posted on Facebook about some oils she had started using & was loving, so I inquired with her & ordered my own starter kit from Young Living. I have loved the oils from the minute I opened the box. I immediately started diffusing Theives because we were already fighting a virus. That night everyone got a foot & neck rub with Peace & Calming for a restful night of sleep & I was able to combine some oils for Donna's plantar fasciitis. I've been diffusing oils for my own anxiety & even for seasonal allergies as the weather & temperature here have been so sporadic recently.

I'm learning so much more about essential oils everyday now that I have the starter kit that came with 11 different oils, a diffuser & tons of info plus some samples. I love finding a remedy using oils before turning to the medicine cabinet (which I honestly haven't had to do) & I can't wait to see what my next order of oils does for our family.

If you'd like more information regarding essential oils or Young Living click here, shoot me an email or leave a comment below. If you have had any great experiences with essential oils, I'd love to hear about them!

17 Weeks In; The Lovelies Are Arriving

It's been a busy busy week at the house this week. I was able to get a couple sneak peeks in through the week catching the house in a couple phases of work progress,

First up was cabinets & counter tops. We decided on a cabinet color before going to the design center to order everything but when we got there something caught both Donna & my eyes. Something neither of us ever thought we'd like. We decided on the spot that's what we'd go with, giving us no time to really think it over or change our minds. The color is called Cashmere Autumn, it's a cream colored cabinet with a tea colored stain in the crevasses. It is really beautiful & after seeing it in the house with the counters we picked, I'm so glad we went for it!

Kitchen cabinets, counters & flooring

Along with the cabinets & counters, the air conditioning unit was installed on tuesday. The toilets were delivered along with the water heater & are standing by for installation. The flooring for the wet areas went in on Thursday and the forms for the driveway were up.

And I just noticed in this photo that the garage door is up, I did not notice it while I was there.

Ready for a driveway!

Soccer Moms At Last!

This past Saturday the boys finally started Soccer. I have anxiously awaited this day since we found out we were expecting 3 boys!!! So it's official, we are Soccer moms!!! Lol

The boys have soccer balls at home & they have always liked kicking them around. We hoped & prayed that they would actually like the game. It's pretty evident that Garren does but may take another week or 2 before we know for sure if the other 2 boys do. :)

Nana & Papa came along to the boys forst practice & game. The U4 (soccer tots) teams practice & play on the same day. It's convenient but I wish they went a couple times a week just for more to do.

The team is great, just 6 kids per team & they play 3 at a time. The boys team is called The Wiley Coyotes. The coach & his wife were great & the other parents were very friendly.

Caden wasn't feeling it Saturday which actually leads to a funny story...
Caden didn't want to play, he just wanted a bottle of water, we obliged & he sat on the bench watching his brothers & team mates practice. We hoped that by game time he would be over whatever was bothering him & he would want to play but by game time he was asking to go home. When we couldn't leave he broke into tears. My mom tried taking him to the car to see if cooling off would help, when he calmed down they came back to the field. He started crying again & now Kellan was getting upset. He wouldn't say what was wrong, we asked the typical questions, potty? Poop? Stomach ache? He answered no to them all. My mom & bonus dad took Kellan & Caden for a walk while Garren finished out the game. Everyone seemed fine when we headed out so we headed down to see the new house & then for some lunch. All 3 boys fell asleep in the car. They woke up in time to eat but Caden didn't want anything, he sat at the table for a little bit & then started asking to go home again. He did this a few weeks ago before he barfed all over the van so I was afraid he was feeling sick. After lunch we decided it was best to take him home & forego the birthday party had planned to attend. He fussed on & off all the way home bit still wouldn't say what was wrong. When we finally got home he started gripping his stomach & bottom, I stripped him down & he immediately when to the bathroom.
He just needed to poop!!!

Wonderful Wednesday

Our friend Amanda over at Little Monster(s) & Mommies had a great idea & I've decided to join in, in hopes of spreading the idea of looking for the good all around us.

Wonderful Wednesday Series

We NEED more positive in this world. Yesterday I took the boys down to my sisters for her weekly playgroup. The boys spent all day Monday asking to go see Chandler, their cousin. (They also spent the day singing Happy Birthday to Aliyah, another cousin. Funny how their little minds work!) Since they didn't give it up come Tuesday & we really had nothing planned I decided to surprise my sister & just show up. The boys were so excited to go & when we were about 20 minutes away I decided to call & see if I could pick anything up for her. My sister was super excited we were going to be there too! The boys had an awesome time playing with Chandler & the other kids. When playgroup was over, my sister & I took all 5 of our children out for lunch. I feel like a side show when I go out with my 3 by myself, it feels like a 3 ring circus with all 5 kids & the 2 of us, lol... It's the boys, they are crazy & my sweet little niece Nadia just sits back & smiles taking it all in.

Caden, Garren & umm... Chandler, doing a little car hopping. Kellan decided to ride with Aunt Autumn & Nadia :)

As if the day wasn't 'wonderful' enough, I was able to swing by the new house & get a sneak peak of our kitchen cabinets & countertops going in :) Donna had been having nightmares about the wrong color cabinets going in, so she was relieved when I text a photo to her revealing they were correct.
